Two Things At Once
Old age is when a person notices his shoelace untied and asks himself, “Is there anything else I can do while I’m down there retying my shoelace?”
While that’s an interesting viewpoint, I look at it not as a consequence or aspect of old age, but from a marketing standpoint of, “Is there anything else I could do while I’m involved with this project?”
Case in point: Recently I attended an event in Burlington to sell books. While there, I spoke to a fellow author also at the event. He told me about yet another event in Ottumwa. While it had already passed, I can mark it down for next year.
Not old age, but a form of networking.
Meet your fellow authors. Who knows what may result? More ideas. More ways to make yourself visible to the public.
I’ll be visible November 12 at Beaverdale Books in Des Moines starting at 6:30. I’m not promising ideas you can take advantage of for yourself. I’m hoping to promote my book(s) and network, and ask others to pass along word about me. On the other hand, those others in attendance who might give you something and you might share with them.
See you there!
Thank you.
