December Brings Winter
Over the previous weekend, a lot of us saw a lot of snow. As I look out of the window as I’m writing this, snow is again falling.
See? This is what all you people who wanted the fall season with crisp temps, wearing sweaters, drinking pumpkin spice whatever get. This is what follows. How long did you get? Two, three weeks? This stuff lasts another two, three months. Blech! LOL
So, I’ve been relatively busy this last month. Won a couple victories on WarriorXFit.com, watching my diet (except over Thanksgiving, but I’m back on the better eating now), and planning on getting back up to Ames this month, as I missed last month.
On the writing front, I had a couple of appearances here in town at bookstores. While I didn’t have the expected attendance, I enjoyed the time.
Where am I in the works in progress?
I’m expecting the first round of edits of Alpha from Ozark Hollow Press soon.
I’ll be reading through Tau, the seventh in the Mallory Petersen series, starting in another week or so, then sending it off to the publisher.
Reading through the eighth book, Theta, to the critique groups.
I emailed the publisher at OHP, and we’ll talk next spring about further submissions.
I’ll be in Carlisle for the Light Up Carlisle Christmas celebration on December 13 from 4-9. A bunch of vendors will be exhibiting potential Christmas gifts at the Harms Oil building. You know, books make great gifts. Order yours from my website for best delivery.
I’m thinking I’ll work on a couple of projects next. I have the first rewrite of Parallel to tackle. Plus, I’m getting interested in figuring out the story for a book I’ve tentatively entitled On Sunday I Sinned. While I’ve written a chapter or two, I want to pause to figure out the motivations, misbeliefs, and goals of a couple of the characters. Could become a series based on the days of the week.
Meanwhile, visit my website above, as well as my book review blog and my writing bits blog.
Happy December (and enjoy the snow, you winter freaks. LOL)
